Wednesday will be my final day at Stoke Mill and I have learnt an awful lot already! Crucially, I have picked up vital knowledge on how to compose well constructed sporting match reports and I have learned various stylistic pointers which are crucial if I want to be taken seriously as a journalist.
During my time here I have had the opportunity to contribute various match reports for both the websites and the newspapers. Last week I uploaded a match report from a Cricket match between Southgate and Uxbridge, which can be found if you scroll down the page.
The link below takes you to a match report I wrote from a game between Hillingdon Borough and Holmer Green. These teams play in Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division, and this article was published on the Uxbridge Gazette website.
The following game features two teams from the same division – London Tigers and London Lions. The match report can be found below in the Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle.
Amersham FC had a massive result against Baldock Town in the Spartan South Midlands League Division 1. My match report from the game can be seen below, on the Buckinghamshire Examiner website.
Finally, the last article is based upon a game that took place on Bank Holiday Monday between Wealdstone and Enfield Town. This game was quite interesting in that it featured Glen Little, a player I used to watch a lot for Reading when they were in the Premier League. He put in a man-of-the-match performance as the Stones came out 4-1 winners. You can see the article below, published in the Harrow Observer.
